Director – Clinical Research Scientist

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential pharmaceutical organization seeking a Director-level Clinical Research Scientist to provide scientific and clinical expertise across the drug development lifecycle. You will contribute to global medical plans and oversee clinical trials from design through regulatory submission and post-launch support.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and align clinical strategies and plans with organizational priorities in pain and neuroscience therapeutic areas
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on study design, protocol development, and clinical trial execution across all phases
• Review and contribute to briefing documents, protocols, investigator brochures, study reports, and regulatory submissions
• Monitor patient safety, conduct adverse event tracking, and approve informed consent documents
• Support investigator selection, site training, and study start-up activities
• Plan clinical study data analysis and lead interpretation of results
• Participate in regulatory activities including labeling development, NDA preparation, and advisory committee support
• Establish and maintain collaborations with external thought leaders, investigators, and professional societies
• Provide scientific support to brand teams for commercialization strategies and promotional materials
• Train and mentor clinical study teams and colleagues

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, DVM, MSN/NP, or related) plus 5+ years of clinical or pharmaceutical experience, OR
• BS/MS in a health, medical, or scientific field plus 7–10 years of relevant pharmaceutical experience in clinical trials or drug development
• Strong knowledge of clinical research methodology, biomarkers, efficacy measures, study designs, and regulatory standards
• Understanding of pain and neurologic disease diagnosis, pathophysiology, and treatment approaches
• Demonstrated ability to balance scientific and business priorities
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Experience:

• Direct clinical trial experience with documented ownership of medical/scientific content development
• Knowledge of FDA, ICH, and GCP regulations
• Experience working with regulatory agencies and professional associations
• Background in pain or neuroscience therapeutic areas
