Commercial Insights Analyst

We are representing a confidential telecommunications organization seeking a Commercial Insights Analyst to join their team in the United Kingdom. This role offers the opportunity to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive business growth, customer retention, and commercial value across consumer and small business portfolios.

As part of our client's commercial team, you'll partner with stakeholders across the organization to explore market trends, evaluate opportunities, and provide evidence-based recommendations that influence key business decisions. This position is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys connecting data patterns with customer behaviour and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and commercial plans for consumer and small business portfolios, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial targets
• Monitor and analyse customer metrics including revenue, margin, ARPU, acquisition, and churn performance, identifying trends and recommending actions to improve outcomes
• Conduct scenario analysis and commercial modelling to assess the impact of pricing changes, product developments, and strategic initiatives
• Create and maintain customer segmentation models and performance dashboards to identify acquisition, retention, and upsell opportunities
• Analyse customer behaviour, usage patterns, and purchasing trends to generate insights supporting product, marketing, and digital initiatives
• Monitor competitor activity and market developments, translating insights into recommendations that strengthen commercial performance
• Partner with stakeholders to evaluate performance and support delivery of commercial objectives
• Support development of business cases and commercial assessments for new products and strategic initiatives
• Produce executive-level reporting and presentations to support decision-making at leadership forums
• Drive improvements in reporting methodologies and performance measurement frameworks

What We're Looking For

• Experience in commercial insight, commercial analytics, business analysis, business intelligence, or performance management roles
• Proven experience in commercial planning, forecasting, business case development, and performance management
• Track record analysing customer behaviour, acquisition, retention, and product performance to support business decisions
• Strong analytical and commercial modelling skills with ability to evaluate opportunities and assess risks
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI
• Experience interpreting and presenting data from multiple sources to create meaningful management information
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence to constructively challenge assumptions and engage senior leaders
• Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
• Experience working collaboratively across functions to influence decision-making and drive commercial improvements
• Knowledge of telecommunications markets, products, and relevant regulatory frameworks is advantageous
