Full Stack Developer (Backend)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential B2B data infrastructure company that is experiencing significant growth. Our client builds systems that power AI-driven workflows and serves enterprise customers in production environments. We're seeking a Full Stack Developer (Backend) to join their India-based engineering team and strengthen their backend systems as they scale.

This is a fully remote role where you'll own backend services end-to-end, working on high-performance APIs and cloud infrastructure that directly impact customer retention and platform reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Develop and optimize high-performance RESTful APIs that serve production systems
• Architect and maintain cloud-native infrastructure across compute, storage, and networking layers
• Build reliable data pipelines and services that process, validate, and serve large datasets
• Ensure system scalability, observability, and fault tolerance as data volume increases
• Own backend features from design and implementation through deployment and monitoring
• Collaborate with frontend and data engineers to maintain clean API contracts and reliable data flow
• Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices
• Continuously improve performance, security, and maintainability across backend systems

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI
• Proven track record designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB or similar)
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with containerization and deployment using Docker
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts including caching, queues, and background jobs
• Ability to design scalable systems and optimize for performance
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and API security best practices
• Experience working in fast-moving, remote-first environments
• Strong ownership mindset with clear communication skills and commitment to shipping production-quality systems
