Responsibilities

We are representing a federal healthcare technology contractor seeking a Software Developer III to support clinical applications using MUMPS/FileMan within the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS). You will develop technical solutions for moderately complex software challenges, focusing on analytical and engineering-based problem solving aligned with IHS standards and conventions.

Your day-to-day work includes:

  • Developing and recommending technical solutions to meet client requirements
  • Secure system engineering and development utilizing technical and analytical skills
  • Designing test scenarios for functional and regression testing of complex software solutions
  • Investigating and resolving software support tickets submitted by end users
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team to design, program, and support clinical applications
  • Engaging in system design, software development, implementation, training, and end user support
  • Analysis and debugging of FileMan/M source code for deployed software

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance from an accredited institution
  • Eight years of experience total, including at least six years of specialized experience in design and development of healthcare information technology (HIT) systems
  • General experience must include requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred:

  • 15+ years of software development experience
  • Significant intensive and progressive experience with FileMan/M (MUMPS) programming
  • Software design, development, testing, and deployment experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the VA and IHS environments, RPMS or legacy VISTA systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team with adjusting priorities and deadlines
  • Understanding of Agile processes and the related QA lifecycle
  • Proven ability to work on a remote/distributed team
  • Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server and/or Azure DevOps
