About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization on a remote contract opportunity for an Eating Disorder Specialist focused on adolescent populations. This role centers on clinical evaluation and expert consultation to support the development of advanced health systems. Your specialized knowledge will contribute to training efforts that require real-world clinical insight—no AI or technical background necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess complex adolescent eating disorder cases, providing detailed written clinical evaluations of medical and psychological risks
  • Apply DSM-5 criteria and validated screening instruments (EDE-Q, SCOFF, and similar tools) to characterize clinical presentations accurately
  • Determine medical stability and flag cases requiring urgent intervention using established frameworks such as MEED
  • Evaluate the appropriateness of evidence-based treatment modalities (FBT, CBT-E, and others) relative to each adolescent's clinical stage and needs
  • Identify comorbid conditions and safeguarding concerns that influence severity or required level of care
  • Produce clear, actionable clinical guidance grounded in current standards and suitable for diverse audiences
  • Benchmark your clinical judgments against peer assessments and established guidelines to ensure quality and consistency

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of post-qualification clinical experience working directly with adolescent patients
  • Specialist background in eating disorders, child/adolescent psychiatry or psychology, or adolescent/pediatric medicine with an eating disorder focus
  • Active clinical license or professional registration in good standing
  • Recent hands-on experience managing an adolescent caseload, or active practice within the past two years
  • Proficiency with evidence-based assessment tools including DSM-5, EDE-Q, SCOFF, and related diagnostic frameworks
  • Familiarity with medical risk assessment protocols (such as MEED) and interventions including FBT or CBT-E
  • Excellent written English skills (native level or equivalent to IELTS 7.5+ with writing 7.0+, TOEFL 100+, or Cambridge C1–C2)
  • Desirable: Experience in medical stabilization for adolescents, formal training in FBT or CBT-E, or expertise in co-occurring conditions such as self-harm or anxiety disorders
