About This Position
As Legal Counsel at ASOS, you will be a trusted advisor to the business, delivering legal support across a range of commercial, regulatory, and operational matters. You'll work within a dynamic legal team, contributing your expertise to protect the organisation's interests whilst enabling business growth. This role offers exposure to diverse legal challenges, from contract management to regulatory compliance, in a fast-paced e-commerce environment. Working remotely, you'll maintain close collaboration with colleagues whilst enjoying the flexibility to work from your location of choice.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide pragmatic legal advice to business stakeholders across departments, balancing commercial objectives with legal and compliance requirements
- Draft, negotiate, and review contracts, terms and conditions, and other legal documents to protect company interests
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Advise on employment matters, data protection, intellectual property, and commercial transactions
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate with specialist advisers as required
- Support risk management initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of legal and compliance processes
- Assist with investigations, disputes, and legal claims as they arise
Who We're Looking For
- Qualified lawyer with recognised legal qualification and relevant post-qualification experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract law, or related legal disciplines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers
- Commercial mindset with the ability to understand business priorities and deliver practical, commercially aware advice
- Proactive, self-motivated professional with strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Comfortable working in a digital environment with remote collaboration tools and systems
