What This Role Involves

As a Chef De Partie at WSH Group in Gravesend, you'll take charge of a specific section of the kitchen—whether sauce, pastry, garde manger, or another specialisation—managing food preparation, quality control, and your team's output during service. You'll work under the head chef's direction, implementing established recipes and culinary standards whilst maintaining the highest levels of food safety and presentation. This role combines technical skill, leadership, and attention to detail in a fast-paced kitchen setting.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee your assigned station, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes prepared
• Prepare ingredients and finished dishes according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of your station in compliance with food safety regulations
• Lead and supervise junior kitchen staff or commis chefs working within your section
• Monitor stock and communicate any shortages or inventory needs to senior kitchen staff
• Respond flexibly to service demands and support other sections when required
• Contribute to menu development discussions and suggest improvements to dishes and processes

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Chef De Partie or in an equivalent senior kitchen role
• Strong culinary knowledge and practical expertise in food preparation techniques
• Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest food and presentation standards
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required
