Chef Manager

WSH Group is recruiting a full-time Chef Manager to lead kitchen operations in Manchester, England, GB. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced culinary professional committed to excellence in food safety, quality, and team development.

About the Role

As Chef Manager, you will take full responsibility for kitchen operations in our Manchester location. You'll lead a team of kitchen professionals, oversee all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and contribute to strategic decisions around menu planning and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the kitchen team, including recruitment and performance management
• Plan menus and oversee all food preparation, cooking, and presentation activities
• Maintain and enforce strict food safety and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen
• Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment and facilities to operational standards
• Manage kitchen budgets, control costs, and oversee supplier relationships
• Collaborate with management on menu development and process improvements
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and food regulation requirements

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a chef with a demonstrable track record in kitchen management or supervision
• Strong culinary skills and comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and nutrition
• Relevant culinary qualifications or formal professional training
• Current Food Safety in Catering certification or recognised industry equivalent
• Excellent leadership abilities and experience managing kitchen teams
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations
• Ability to maintain high standards whilst working effectively under pressure
