Role Overview

As a bartender at Legends, you are the face of our beverage operation, responsible for mixing drinks, greeting guests, and maintaining the energy of one of campus's most visited social spaces. This role demands attention to detail, quick thinking under pressure, and genuine warmth toward the diverse guests you'll serve—from undergraduates to alumni, families, and university guests. Your expertise and professionalism directly shape how guests experience Notre Dame's hospitality culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages with accuracy and consistency
• Check identification and enforce all state alcohol laws and University of Notre Dame serving policies
• Operate the point-of-sale system to ring orders and process payments smoothly
• Keep the bar station organized, clean, and fully stocked during your entire shift
• Provide attentive customer service, remembering guest preferences and building rapport
• Handle cash and card transactions with precision and honesty
• Collaborate with team members and managers to maintain service flow and resolve issues
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards in all bar operations

Skills & Qualifications

• Active alcohol server certification (TIPS, ABC, or state-equivalent) or ability to obtain before start
• Working knowledge of cocktail recipes, beer varieties, and wine basics
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Multitasking skills and composure during high-volume service periods
• Attention to detail and accuracy with money handling
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 50 pounds
• Reliable presence and a guest-focused mindset
• Legal working age in Indiana for bartending roles
