Principal / Distinguished Engineer – Mulit-Cloud – Control Plane – Kubernetes

Join ServiceNow as a Principal or Distinguished Engineer to lead the evolution of our multi-cloud platform and control plane infrastructure in Santa Clara, California. This is a full-time remote position for an engineering leader who will drive architecture and innovation across our Kubernetes-based systems.

Role Overview

As a Principal or Distinguished Engineer focused on multi-cloud and control plane technologies, you'll architect and shepherd next-generation infrastructure solutions at ServiceNow. This leadership role places you at the intersection of cloud platform strategy, Kubernetes innovation, and system reliability. You'll influence technical direction, mentor engineering teams, and shape how the organization manages containerized workloads and multi-cloud deployments at scale.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the control plane architecture supporting multi-cloud Kubernetes infrastructure
• Lead technical initiatives that improve platform reliability, performance, and developer experience
• Collaborate with engineering teams across the organization to set standards and best practices for containerization and orchestration
• Mentor and guide engineers working on cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and operations
• Drive decisions on multi-cloud strategy, tooling, and infrastructure investments
• Review and contribute to technical designs for high-impact infrastructure projects

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, operations, and ecosystem
• Proven experience designing and managing multi-cloud infrastructure at scale
• Strong background in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or similar disciplines
• Track record of technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-team influence
• Understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, and container technologies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across engineering organizations
