Sr. Manager, AI Forward Deployed Engineering (AI-FDE)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential data and AI platform organization seeking a Sr. Manager, AI Forward Deployed Engineering to lead their EMEA professional services team based remotely in Germany (Munich region). This is a strategic leadership role where you will:

• Build and scale a world-class AI/ML professional services team through strategic hiring, mentoring, and organizational development to support long-term growth
• Develop and maintain executive relationships with EMEA customers and partners at VP, CIO, and CDO levels, serving as a trusted advisor during complex AI transformation initiatives
• Partner with Field Engineering and Sales Leaders to define joint account strategies and coordinate delivery across functions
• Lead strategic AI professional services initiatives, standardize delivery processes, and design scalable engagement models for global repeatability
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, R&D, and Go-to-Market teams, ensuring customer insights inform product roadmap and GTM strategy
• Own and deliver on OKRs for AI-services led accounts, revenue targets, team utilization, and public customer references
• Represent our client as a thought leader in the AI/ML space at industry events and with key stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Extensive experience managing, hiring, and building high-performing teams of data scientists and ML engineers, with proven success scaling organizations through process development and leadership cultivation
• Demonstrated ability to scope, guide, and sell technical engagements, manage escalations, and ensure successful delivery in enterprise environments
• Deep technical expertise in machine learning, generative AI, and data science, with commitment to staying current in this rapidly evolving field
• Experience leading teams building production ML solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proven track record developing strategy with senior executive stakeholders, defining program-level goals, aligning technical vision, and building trust through complex enterprise engagements
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership experience collaborating with Sales, Product, and GTM teams to drive business impact through AI/ML
• Company-first mindset and collaborative approach
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or equivalent practical experience
• Based in Germany and eligible to work remotely from the Munich region

Preferred qualifications:

• Background in customer-facing consulting or professional services leadership
• Experience with modern data and AI platforms

Pay
