Senior Lead Consultant, Air Compliance

Ramboll is hiring a Senior Lead Consultant, Air Compliance to join our team in Syracuse, New York. This is a full-time remote position offering the opportunity to drive environmental strategy and compliance excellence for a global consulting leader.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced air compliance expert to step into a leadership role where you'll influence regulatory strategy, mentor junior consultants, and guide clients through complex air quality challenges. In this remote position, you'll work across diverse industries to ensure facilities meet federal, state, and local air quality standards while building lasting client relationships and shaping our consulting practice.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead air compliance assessments and develop customized regulatory strategies for clients
• Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering their technical growth and professional development
• Prepare and review air quality permits, compliance documentation, and regulatory submissions
• Conduct training on air quality regulations and best practices for client teams
• Manage multiple client engagements while maintaining strong communication and project delivery
• Stay current on evolving EPA and state air quality regulations and industry standards

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry, or related field
• 7+ years of professional experience in air compliance, environmental consulting, or regulatory affairs
• Deep knowledge of Clean Air Act requirements and EPA Title V permitting
• Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring and managing consulting teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex regulations clearly
• Professional license (PE or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
