Customer Service – Self Storage Manager

About the Role

As Customer Service – Self Storage Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of a busy storage facility in Mechanicsburg, PA. You'll be the face of Public Storage to our customers, managing everything from new tenant leases to day-to-day problem-solving. This role combines customer-facing service with operational management, requiring you to balance tenant satisfaction with sound business practices and facility security.

What You'll Do

• Lease storage units to prospective customers and manage existing tenant relationships
• Process payments, handle account inquiries, and resolve billing or service issues
• Maintain facility cleanliness, security, and safety standards
• Market the Mechanicsburg storage facility to attract new business
• Show units, explain features and pricing, and close deals with potential renters
• Perform or coordinate routine maintenance and repairs
• Monitor facility access, oversee tenant compliance, and enforce lease terms
• Train and supervise staff as needed
• Handle cash and credit transactions with accuracy
• Report performance metrics and maintain operational records

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven customer service experience in a similar role or retail environment
• Sales ability and comfort with leasing or closing sales
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and processing payments
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take ownership
• Physical ability to walk the facility, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform maintenance tasks
• Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn facility management software
• Reliable attendance and professional demeanor
• High school diploma or GED preferred
