About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology organization with operations across India. Our client is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer with deep expertise in speech/audio and computer vision to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI models. This is a remote position based in India.

As our talent team works with this client, you'll have the opportunity to own the complete model development lifecycle—from dataset curation through production deployment—while collaborating with cross-functional software and product teams to deliver scalable, low-latency AI features.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, train, and productionize deep learning models for speech/audio applications (ASR, speaker diarization, audio classification, TTS, noise suppression) and computer vision use cases (detection, segmentation, classification, video understanding)
• Architect training pipelines capable of handling large-scale datasets, including data preprocessing, augmentation, and versioning workflows
• Select and adapt state-of-the-art architectures (Transformers, CNNs, RNNs, diffusion models) and fine-tune or distill pre-trained models for production constraints
• Optimize models for inference through quantization, pruning, and knowledge distillation, targeting latency, throughput, and memory requirements on CPU/GPU/edge hardware
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into production systems, designing APIs and microservices for model serving
• Define and track evaluation benchmarks, monitor model performance in production, and drive continuous improvement cycles
• Stay current with research literature, evaluate and implement relevant state-of-the-art techniques, and contribute to internal technical discussions

What We're Looking For

• B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc., or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related technical field
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning/deep learning engineering with significant production work in speech/audio and/or computer vision domains
• Strong proficiency in PyTorch (primary framework) and TensorFlow/Keras; familiarity with JAX is a plus
• Deep expertise with speech/audio frameworks and toolkits including Wav2Vec 2.0, Whisper, ESPnet, SpeechBrain, torchaudio, and librosa
• Solid computer vision experience with YOLO, DETR, ViT, EfficientNet, SAM, and standard CV pipelines (OpenCV, torchvision, Albumentations)
• Hands-on experience with model inference optimization using TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, TorchScript, DeepSpeed, or Triton Inference Server
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including Python, OOP, clean code practices, testing, and CI/CD
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and pipeline logging
• Experience with distributed training frameworks (DDP, DeepSpeed, FSDP) and large-scale data pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure ML) and containerized deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
• Strong understanding of system design principles for ML services including throughput, latency, scalability, and fault tolerance
