About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential telecommunications infrastructure provider seeking a Principal Product Strategist to lead wholesale optical infrastructure portfolio strategy. This is a fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.
In this role, you'll define product direction for wholesale fiber and optical infrastructure services, serving as a strategic advisor to enterprise customers and translating market insights into differentiated product roadmaps and commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Shape portfolio strategy for wholesale optical and fiber-based infrastructure services, including wavelength services, dark fiber, dim fiber, managed optical systems, and on-demand capacity offerings
- Lead strategic customer engagement to understand network requirements, capacity needs, commercial preferences, and long-term infrastructure planning
- Develop solution constructs using existing product lines, including hybrid approaches that combine different infrastructure delivery models
- Identify market trends, customer preferences, competitive movements, and emerging consumption models; translate insights into product recommendations, pricing strategies, and commercial frameworks
- Partner with product management, architecture, engineering, IT, operations, finance, and sales to define requirements, scope business cases, and align product investments to growth opportunities
- Shepherd product initiatives from concept through launch, commercialization, and lifecycle management following internal governance processes
- Own product KPIs including revenue performance, sales adoption, win rates, customer traction, usage trends, and strategic growth metrics
- Provide market intelligence on wholesale infrastructure trends, route economics, technology evolution, pricing dynamics, and competitive positioning to support executive decisions
- Support go-to-market efforts by defining positioning, value propositions, use cases, and customer-facing messaging for infrastructure solutions
- Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority across complex, high-visibility initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience; advanced business or technical education preferred
- 10+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or infrastructure solution leadership within telecommunications, optical networking, or wholesale infrastructure markets
- Deep expertise in optical and fiber-based infrastructure services, including wavelength services, dark fiber, dim fiber constructs, managed optical systems, and high-capacity on-demand bandwidth models
- Exceptional executive presence to engage senior customer stakeholders and strategic acumen to shape portfolio direction
- Strong track record of translating customer and market insights into successful product strategy
- Proven ability to drive results in cross-functional environments without direct reporting authority

Pay
Our client offers competitive compensation based on location and experience. The anticipated base salary ranges are:
- $152,066 - $202,755 for candidates in: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY
- $159,670 - $212,893 for candidates in: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI
- $167,273 - $223,031 for candidates in: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA
