Principal Machine Learning Engineer, Agentic AI

Our talent team is representing a confidential real estate technology organization seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join their Agentic AI initiative. This is a remote position available across the United States, offering the chance to build cutting-edge AI systems that serve millions of users.

You'll work on a lean, autonomous team developing multimodal agentic experiences that transform how people interact with intelligent assistants. This role combines research-level innovation with production-scale engineering, requiring both technical depth and strategic leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale, fault-tolerant multimodal agentic systems capable of handling hundreds of millions of daily interactions
• Design and implement multiple agent interaction modes, including Voice AI and Deep Research capabilities
• Build robust evaluation frameworks, tracing systems, and safety guardrails for highly-visible AI agents
• Lead complex, multi-team initiatives that bridge applied research and scalable production engineering
• Pioneer emerging agentic paradigms and convert them into tangible product features
• Communicate complex AI system architectures and research findings to executive leadership and cross-functional teams
• Drive technical direction and influence strategy across multiple engineering teams

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience building products using frontier multimodal LLMs
• 5+ years of experience deploying large-scale ML models in production environments
• 2-3 years of recent experience building agent-based systems, multi-agent collaboration, or similar paradigms
• Proven track record developing engaging dialogue systems with long conversation capability, context-aware tool selection, and compliant response generation
• Experience building AI services with high availability, low latency, and robust fault tolerance at massive scale
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, Agents SDK, AutoGen, and production ML infrastructure
• Strong communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences including executives
• Track record of writing articles, patents, or publishing high-impact research is a strong plus
• Roll-up-the-sleeves technical leader who can balance cutting-edge technology with pragmatic engineering
