Technical Co-Founder / CTO

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a well-funded, Berlin-based technology startup operating in the AI infrastructure space. They are seeking a Technical Co-Founder / CTO to join their founding team and lead the development of their core platform from the ground up.

This is a genuine co-founder role with significant equity, technical ownership, and the opportunity to shape both product and company direction. The organization is building open-source technology focused on production reliability and observability for autonomous AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall technical vision, architecture, and engineering strategy for the platform
• Build and ship core product features and underlying infrastructure in a hands-on capacity
• Design scalable backend systems for AI runtime monitoring, telemetry, evaluation, and policy enforcement
• Make key architectural decisions around APIs, infrastructure, developer experience, and security
• Work directly with early customers to translate technical problems into product solutions
• Contribute to and help shape the open-source project and developer community
• Recruit and build the engineering team as the company scales
• Define the long-term technical roadmap in collaboration with the founding team

What We're Looking For

• Strong software engineering background with proven experience building and shipping production systems
• Deep expertise in backend systems, distributed systems, APIs, and infrastructure design
• Strong coding skills and commitment to remaining hands-on in a technical leadership role
• Track record of taking products from early-stage development through to production deployment
• Excellent technical judgment and ability to make pragmatic architecture decisions under uncertainty
• High ownership mentality and comfort operating in an early-stage, fast-moving startup environment
• Genuine interest in AI agents and the evolving AI infrastructure ecosystem
• Currently based in Germany or willing to relocate to Germany
• Previous founder, co-founder, or early-stage startup experience strongly preferred

Strong plus: Experience with AI agents and agentic frameworks, AI/LLM observability tools, distributed systems and developer infrastructure, or OpenTelemetry and related observability technologies.

Pay
