Chief Design Officer

About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential technology organization building next-generation consumer applications. We're seeking a Chief Design Officer to lead product design quality across multiple consumer products and establish the design vision for AI-native experiences.

This is a hands-on design leadership role based in the United Kingdom, requiring direct involvement in the most critical product experiences and user journeys.

Responsibilities

• Set the design direction and quality standards across all consumer products in the portfolio
• Work directly on or review critical user journeys, product concepts, and interface design
• Transform complex workflows into intuitive, accessible consumer experiences
• Establish and maintain standards for product design, interaction design, visual design, and design systems
• Conduct design reviews of shipped products and identify specific usability improvements
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams from early concept through production launch
• Build and assess the design team, recruiting senior product, UI, and brand designers

What We're Looking For

• Strong portfolio demonstrating shipped consumer technology products with proven user adoption
• Deep product and interaction design expertise—this is a maker role, not primarily people management
• Exceptional visual judgment with meticulous attention to interface details
• Ability to prototype and communicate product interactions directly using design tools
• Proven track record working closely with product and engineering to ship successful products
• Hands-on design approach with the ability to create, critique, and materially improve design work
• Experience establishing design systems and quality standards at scale
