Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential precision medicine organization in their search for an Associate Director, Development Operations. Our client is advancing novel therapeutics in ophthalmology, with multiple clinical programs progressing through the pipeline. This is a remote opportunity based in the United States.

We're seeking an experienced clinical operations professional to lead the operational execution of clinical trials as our client advances their programs through development. You'll own day-to-day study delivery, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination to keep trials on time, on budget, and GCP-compliant. This role offers significant opportunity to shape operational processes and build a team as the function scales.

Responsibilities

• Study Execution: Own operational delivery of one or more clinical trials, driving timelines, quality, and issue resolution from startup through close-out
• Operational Strategy: Oversee development of study-level operational plans and risk mitigation strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams
• Regulatory Activities: Provide input and support for regulatory submissions, inspection readiness activities, and serve as subject matter expert during regulatory inspections
• Vendor & CRO Management: Lead vendor identification, selection, contract review, and ongoing performance management
• Monitoring/Site Oversight: Oversee CRO monitoring activities to ensure site performance, enrollment, and data quality meet study goals
• Budget Oversight: Support development and tracking of study budgets, flagging variances and ensuring fiscal discipline
• Operational Excellence: Build and refine SOPs, systems, and workflows to support scalable clinical operations
• GCP Compliance: Ensure trials are conducted to GCP and applicable regulatory standards; maintain inspection-ready trial master files
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Medical, Data, and Regulatory teams to align operational plans with program strategy
• Executive Reporting: Provide clear, timely updates on study status, risks, and timelines to senior leadership

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• 5–7+ years of Clinical Operations experience across multiple trial phases
• 2+ years of ophthalmology experience required (retina experience a plus)
• Extensive experience managing CROs, vendors, and sites
• Strong understanding of GCP, ICH guidelines, and clinical trial regulations
• Proven ability to shape operational strategy and drive execution across multiple studies simultaneously
• Strong budget and vendor management skills with experience tracking spend and flagging variances
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Comfortable operating independently in a lean, fast-moving biotech environment
• High integrity, strong judgment, and track record of delivering complex clinical trials on time and within budget
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $179,000–$210,000 annually plus equity and benefits. Final compensation is based on skills, experience, certifications, and other factors unique to each candidate.
