Media Prep Senior Lab Tech- 2nd shift

Eurofins is hiring a Media Prep Senior Lab Technician for second shift operations at our Lancaster, PA laboratory. This full-time role is critical to our testing and laboratory services, where you'll prepare and maintain culture media that directly supports quality assurance and scientific testing across our facility.

Position Summary

As a Media Prep Senior Lab Tech on the 2nd shift, you'll take ownership of media preparation, sterilization, and inventory management in our busy Lancaster facility. Your technical expertise and commitment to laboratory standards ensure that every batch of media meets our rigorous quality specifications. This hands-on role offers independence during evening shift operations while collaborating with laboratory staff to support our testing capabilities.

What You'll Do

• Prepare culture media and growth media according to established formulations and quality standards
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and specialized laboratory apparatus
• Perform quality control verification on prepared media batches before distribution to testing departments
• Manage media supplies, reagents, and related inventory for 2nd shift operations
• Document preparation processes, batch records, and testing results in laboratory information systems
• Maintain contamination control and adhere to safety protocols throughout the workspace
• Collaborate with laboratory team members to troubleshoot preparation issues and optimize workflows
• Mentor junior technicians in media preparation techniques and laboratory best practices

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in laboratory settings with media preparation
• Strong understanding of sterilization techniques and microbiology principles
• Demonstrated ability to follow complex laboratory protocols with precision and attention to detail
• Experience operating laboratory equipment such as autoclaves and analytical balances
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in laboratory science preferred
• Commitment to laboratory safety standards and contamination control practices
• Comfort working independently during evening shift hours
• Clear communication and ability to contribute effectively to a team environment
