Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential defence technology client seeking a Product Manager to lead maritime autonomous systems development. In this role, you will:

  • Own end-to-end development of software-defined maritime capabilities and mission-critical sensor suites
  • Direct integration of advanced sensors and autonomous software by leading collaboration across System Engineering, Project Delivery, and Operations teams
  • Drive product testing strategies including Software-in-the-Loop (SITL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL), and full hardware/software integrations
  • Lead strategic market analysis to identify platform opportunities for allied defence forces
  • Manage the complete product lifecycle from prototype through deployment and customer acceptance
  • Enforce rigorous safety and compliance standards across the maritime product portfolio
  • Communicate product vision and strategic milestones to internal stakeholders and external defence partners

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Technical degree in Maritime Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Proven product management experience delivering complex maritime or defence systems
  • Strong understanding of maritime operations and sensor integration
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and navigate regulatory requirements
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance

Preferred experience:

  • Background in naval projects or autonomous/robotic platforms
  • Defence-tech or rapid-growth aerospace environment experience
  • Experience working in V-model development cycles while maintaining agile pace
