The Opportunity

As a Part-Time Faculty 3D Animation Instructor, you'll deliver engaging coursework in 3D modeling, animation techniques, and digital production. Working at MC in Maryland's Montgomery County, you'll inspire students to develop technical skills and artistic vision in one of today's most in-demand creative fields. This position offers the flexibility of part-time faculty work with the impact of shaping aspiring animators and digital artists.

Core Duties

• Teach foundational and intermediate 3D animation courses using industry-standard software
• Develop and refine curriculum materials, assignments, and project-based learning experiences
• Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback on technical execution and creative problem-solving
• Guide students through the animation pipeline, from pre-visualization to final rendering
• Stay current with emerging tools and techniques in 3D animation and digital media
• Collaborate with colleagues across the media arts and design departments
• Maintain a supportive learning environment that encourages creativity and professional growth

What You Bring

• Demonstrated expertise in 3D animation software (such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or Cinema 4D)
• Proven experience creating professional animation work or portfolio-quality student projects
• Strong foundational knowledge of animation principles, modeling, rigging, and rendering
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an accessible, engaging way
• Bachelor's degree in Animation, Digital Art, Fine Arts, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Familiarity with current industry workflows and best practices
