Property Accountant

Robert Half seeks an experienced Property Accountant for a full-time position in Germantown, Montgomery County to oversee accounting functions across a real estate portfolio.

In this position supporting Robert Half's property accounting team in Germantown, you'll manage financial operations for multiple residential properties. Your work encompasses transaction processing, record maintenance, and financial report preparation. This is an ideal opportunity to step into a hands-on accounting role where you'll contribute directly to the accuracy and timeliness of property-level financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable across assigned properties
• Reconcile ledger accounts and property-related transactions monthly
• Prepare financial statements and summaries for individual properties
• Enter property data, rent collections, and expenses into Yardi software
• Verify bank and credit card reconciliations for property operations
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Maintain organized documentation and transaction records

What We're Looking For

• Working knowledge of Yardi property management platform
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accounting accuracy
• Experience with general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliation functions
• Proficiency in Excel and standard accounting software
• Familiarity with real estate or residential property accounting
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines
