Accountant II

Position Summary

We're seeking an experienced Accountant II to strengthen our accounting department in Byron Center. As a trusted member of our finance team, you'll manage critical financial processes, ensure accuracy in our records, and support the company's continued growth across our national distribution network. This role offers hands-on experience in general accounting functions within a dynamic food industry environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and documented
• Prepare journal entries and perform account analysis to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies to ensure cash accuracy
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Assist with audit activities and provide supporting documentation as requested
• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and identify opportunities for efficiency gains

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience in a general accounting or related role
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
