Home Lending Center Loan Officer

KeyBank seeks a Home Lending Center Loan Officer to join our Brooklyn, Cuyahoga County team. In this full-time role, you'll guide clients through the mortgage loan process, help them find financing solutions that fit their needs, and grow our lending business through meaningful client relationships and referral partnerships.

What This Role Involves

As a Loan Officer at our Home Lending Center in Brooklyn, you'll be the trusted advisor helping families navigate residential mortgage options. You'll evaluate borrowers' financial situations, recommend loan products aligned with their goals, and shepherd applications through approval and closing. Your work directly impacts clients' ability to purchase or refinance their homes while building KeyBank's reputation in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with loan applicants to gather financial information and assess borrowing needs
• Present mortgage products and financing options, explaining terms and rates in clear language
• Prepare and review loan applications for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to move loans toward approval
• Follow up with clients throughout the loan lifecycle to address questions and concerns
• Cultivate referral relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other professional partners
• Maintain detailed documentation and comply with all regulatory and company standards

What We're Looking For

• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex financial concepts simply
• Proficiency with residential mortgage lending products and practices
• Demonstrated sales ability and comfort developing client relationships
• Organized, detail-oriented approach to managing applications and documentation
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Brooklyn and surrounding areas
• High school diploma or equivalent; mortgage industry experience is a plus
