About the Role
As a Student Worker – Biological Sciences Assistant, you'll be the backbone of our biology department's laboratory and greenhouse operations. Working directly with our Biology Laboratory Coordinators and Greenhouse Manager, you'll gain hands-on experience in scientific facility management while supporting faculty-led instruction and research. This part-time position is ideal for students who are curious about biology and eager to contribute to a dynamic academic environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Set up and break down biology laboratory spaces for classes and experiments
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware
- Measure and prepare liquid and dry media for biological procedures
- Restock laboratory supplies and track inventory
- Provide care for research animals under supervisor guidance
- Support greenhouse operations and plant maintenance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Who We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled Ohio Wesleyan University student
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and punctual
- Able to follow instructions and work independently or collaboratively
- Comfortable with hands-on lab work and physical tasks
- Prior laboratory experience preferred but not required
