Working Families Party seeks a full-time temporary Rhode Island Political Organizer based in Rhode Island to support our progressive movement and advance campaigns that create real economic opportunity for working people across the state.

Position Summary

As a Rhode Island Political Organizer with Working Families Party, you'll be at the heart of grassroots mobilization across the state. We're building a movement to shift power toward working families and communities of color, and organizers are essential to that mission. This temporary, full-time role demands energy, commitment, and the ability to inspire and mobilize voters at the community level. You'll combine strategic thinking with on-the-ground action to drive real change throughout Rhode Island.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain community relationships through door-to-door voter contact and direct community engagement
  • Organize and facilitate canvasses, phone banks, community meetings, and volunteer events that advance campaign goals
  • Develop local volunteer networks and train new activists to become effective organizers themselves
  • Support candidates endorsed by Working Families Party through field operations and comprehensive voter outreach
  • Track voter contact data, maintain campaign records, and report on organizing progress and outcomes
  • Collaborate with fellow organizers and campaign staff to execute integrated community mobilization strategies
  • Communicate Working Families Party's platform and candidates' vision to Rhode Island voters

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in community organizing, political campaigns, or voter engagement work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to connect authentically across diverse communities
  • Self-directed work style balanced with genuine collaboration and teamwork
  • Alignment with Working Families Party's values of racial and economic justice
  • Reliability, sound judgment, and capacity to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as campaign needs require
