About This Position

As a Paraeducator Generalist at Park Orchard Elementary, you'll provide vital instructional and behavioral support in the classroom, working alongside teachers to help every student reach their full potential. This full-time position runs 6.5 hours per day over a 180-day school year, with your schedule determined by the school's specific operational and instructional needs. The role offers the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact on young learners' educational journeys while contributing to a collaborative school community in Moses Lake, Grant County.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers with instruction, small group learning activities, and whole-class supervision
• Assist students in developing academic skills, following classroom procedures, and building positive peer relationships
• Prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials and learning resources
• Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement throughout the day
• Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom climate
• Foster communication and positive relationships with students, families, and school staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum college credits as required by Moses Lake School District 161 (alternative: eligible to take the Paraeducator Assessment)
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse students, families, and colleagues
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Genuine commitment to supporting student learning, safety, and well-being
