About This Position
As a Direct Support Professional with Sunrise Community of Tennessee, you'll be the backbone of our support team—providing person-centered assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this full-time role, you'll work directly with clients to help them achieve independence, pursue their goals, and live meaningful lives within their communities. Your contributions will be guided by a commitment to understanding each person's unique needs, preferences, and aspirations.
Core Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and hygiene
- Support skill development and help clients work toward personal independence goals
- Facilitate community participation, social engagement, and recreational activities
- Document progress, observations, and client needs with accuracy and clarity
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
- Communicate collaboratively with supervisors, families, and care team members
Who We're Looking For

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Reliability, patience, and excellent interpersonal abilities
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt your approach to meet individual client needs
