About the Role

As a Special Education Resource Room Teacher, you'll lead instruction in a dedicated learning environment while collaborating across the school to support student success. Your work will bridge resource room instruction with inclusive general education settings, ensuring students develop both academic skills and confidence.

What You'll Do

  • Create and teach individualized lessons aligned with each student's IEP goals and Washington State standards
  • Deliver targeted instruction in core academic areas, adapting methods to meet diverse learning needs
  • Partner with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate successful inclusion and progress monitoring
  • Collect and analyze student performance data, adjusting instruction based on evidence of learning
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and communicate progress to families and educational teams
  • Ensure full compliance with IDEA, state special education regulations, and district policies
  • Build a supportive, inclusive classroom culture that celebrates individual strengths and growth

What We're Looking For

  • Current Washington State teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement
  • Strong grasp of special education law, IEP development, and differentiated instruction practices
  • Proven ability to teach students across a range of disabilities and learning profiles
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
