West Valley-Mission CCD is hiring part-time noncredit tutoring instructors and coordinators to join our flexible educator pool. Work directly with students across our campuses in supporting their academic success through collaborative learning assistance.
About This Position
This is a part-time pool position, offering flexible scheduling to support student learning outcomes at West Valley-Mission Community College District. You'll provide individualized and small-group tutoring services in noncredit programs, helping learners build foundational skills and confidence across diverse subject areas. Pool positions allow you to choose your availability and availability windows, making this ideal for educators balancing multiple roles or seeking flexible work arrangements.
What You'll Do
- Deliver one-on-one and group tutoring sessions tailored to student learning goals
- Assess student understanding and adapt instructional approaches to support different learning styles
- Track student progress and maintain clear documentation of tutoring sessions
- Collaborate with instructional faculty to align tutoring with course content and objectives
- Create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation
- Support students in noncredit developmental education and workforce readiness programs
Requirements
- Master's degree in any discipline with demonstrated tutoring or learning assistance experience; OR
- Master's degree in education, educational psychology, instructional design, or related field
- Master's degree in any field with coursework or demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Flexible availability for part-time scheduling
