About the Role

You'll work directly with J Street's Associate Director of Government Affairs on Capitol Hill and executive branch advocacy. This part-time internship runs 2–3 months, typically from Labor Day through Thanksgiving, at 15 hours per week. The position is based in our Washington, D.C. office and is compensated at $19 per hour.

What You'll Do

  • Research legislative developments, pending bills, and congressional activity relevant to Middle East policy
  • Prepare briefing materials and policy summaries for staff and advocacy meetings
  • Assist with constituent and stakeholder outreach and engagement
  • Support coordination with allied organizations and advocacy partners
  • Help track and analyze voting records and policy positions of federal officials
  • Contribute to written advocacy materials and communications

What We're Looking For

  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Demonstrated interest in foreign policy, government affairs, or political advocacy
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn about Middle East policy and Israeli-Palestinian issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based research tools
