Clinical Nurse Operating Room

Join BJC HealthCare as a Clinical Nurse in our Operating Room at our Wilbur Park, Saint Louis County location. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide expert perioperative nursing care in a dynamic, prestigious Level I Trauma Center setting.

About the Role

You'll work nights in our cardiac surgical program at Barnes Jewish Hospital, a 1,500-bed Level I Trauma Center. This position provides a stable schedule with exceptional work-life balance — no on-call responsibilities, no weekends, and just 1–2 holidays annually. You'll complete three 12-hour shifts per week on a Monday–Friday overnight schedule (6:30 PM–7:00 AM), allowing you to plan your personal life with confidence.

What You'll Do

• Deliver perioperative nursing care for complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures
• Support minimally invasive cardiac surgery, heart failure interventions, and heart/lung transplant operations
• Assist with robotic-assisted and vascular/endovascular surgical cases
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to optimize patient safety and outcomes
• Maintain sterile fields, manage surgical instruments, and ensure strict compliance with safety protocols
• Provide compassionate pre-operative and post-operative patient care

What We're Looking For

• Current RN license in good standing (Missouri licensure or compact privilege required)
• Operating room nursing experience preferred, particularly in cardiac or thoracic surgery
• Strong technical proficiency with surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced surgical team environments
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality surgical care
• Professional communication and clinical decision-making skills
