About this role & career path

A lead trade-compliance seat at a large federal contractor often sits between legal, contracts, and delivery—useful for moving into broader compliance, ethics, or program-risk leadership. No promotion-path data is in DATA.

Build the skills for this role

Prioritize U.S. export controls (ITAR/EAR-style frameworks), sanctions screening, licensing workflows, and clear written guidance for technical teams. No certification family or cost list was provided in CERTS.

  • Walk through a trade-compliance issue on a multi-party government program
  • Explain how you partner with engineers and contracts without blocking delivery
  • Discuss escalation when rules conflict with schedule pressure

Strong fit if you already lead trade-compliance judgment in regulated, client-facing environments and want HQ-area federal consulting work. Weak fit if you need remote flexibility or published pay/review data before deciding—neither is in DATA.
