About the Role
As a Regional Medical Scientific Director, you'll serve as the trusted medical and scientific resource for healthcare providers, clinical researchers, and key opinion leaders across your territory. You'll translate complex immunological science into actionable clinical insights, support evidence-based decision-making, and strengthen MSD's presence in the gastrointestinal immunology space. This director-level role combines strategic medical affairs expertise with deep scientific credibility and direct clinical engagement.
What You'll Do
- Provide scientific and medical expertise on immunology and inflammatory bowel disease to physicians, gastroenterologists, and clinical teams across Northern California
- Support clinical research initiatives, trial recruitment, and physician education programs in your region
- Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and healthcare systems
- Contribute to the development and execution of medical and scientific strategies aligned with MSD's strategic priorities
- Represent MSD at medical conferences, advisory boards, and clinical forums
- Gather market insights and clinical feedback to inform internal medical and commercial teams
What We're Looking For
- PharmD, PhD, MD, or DNP credential (required)
- Professional licensure or board certification in your field
- Deep knowledge of immunology, inflammatory bowel disease, and/or gastrointestinal therapeutic areas
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to diverse healthcare audiences
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills
- Willingness to travel throughout Northern California for in-person physician and healthcare provider engagement
