Pathways Youth & Family Services is hiring a Youth & Family Support Specialist to join our team in Impact, Taylor County. This is a part-time position supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families caring for adolescents and young adults.
About the Role
As a Youth & Family Support Specialist, you'll serve as a trusted advocate and coordinator for families navigating the foster care and kinship system. Your work connects families with the resources and services they need while maintaining consistent, compassionate support throughout their journey.
What You'll Do
- Monitor family stability and well-being, conducting regular check-ins with families caring for youth aged 14 and older
- Coordinate and arrange services including counseling, educational support, medical care, and recreational opportunities
- Act as a liaison between families, service providers, schools, and community organizations
- Develop individualized support plans based on each family's strengths and needs
- Provide crisis support and guidance during transitions or challenging situations
- Document case activities and maintain detailed, organized records
- Attend team meetings and participate in professional development
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or relevant experience preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting vulnerable youth and families
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed records
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Background check and references required
