MSD is hiring a Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison) focused on Immunology and Gastrointestinal (GI) therapeutic areas for our Southeast region. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the United States where you'll serve as a credentialed medical expert driving strategic priorities and scientific engagement within your region.
About the Role
As a Regional Medical Scientific Director and Medical Science Liaison, you'll act as MSD's medical authority for healthcare providers, fostering scientific conversations and supporting evidence-based treatment decisions in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) immunology. Your work directly impacts patient care in the Southeast US while advancing MSD's strategic operating priorities through credible, data-driven partnerships.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute regional medical engagement strategies with physicians and healthcare systems focused on IBD immunology and GI therapeutics
- Conduct scientific presentations, provide expert medical information, and facilitate clinical discussions with key healthcare providers
- Stay current with clinical research, treatment guidelines, and scientific developments in immunology and gastrointestinal disease
- Build professional relationships with medical stakeholders to support informed therapeutic conversations
- Document interactions and provide medical insights to internal teams, contributing to strategic planning
What We're Looking For
- Advanced degree required: PhD, PharmD, DNP, MD, or equivalent credentialing in a healthcare or scientific discipline
- Strong background in medical science, immunology, or clinical experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to clinical audiences
- Growth-oriented mindset with proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, improvement-focused environment
- Regional presence in the Southeast US; willingness to travel as needed for medical engagement
- Excellent interpersonal and professional relationship-building skills
