Licensed Psychiatrist (Virtual)

Headway is hiring a full-time Licensed Psychiatrist (Virtual) to provide psychiatric care to patients across Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County. About the Role

As a Licensed Psychiatrist with Headway, you'll connect with patients via secure virtual appointments to provide comprehensive psychiatric services. You'll conduct clinical assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, manage medications, and coordinate care with other healthcare providers. The position emphasizes accessibility—ensuring patients can access timely psychiatric evaluation and treatment regardless of geography.

What You'll Do

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing clinical assessments for patients across your service area
• Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, adjusting treatment plans based on patient outcomes
• Provide crisis assessment and safety intervention when clinically needed
• Document all care in compliance with regulatory and insurance requirements
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated, evidence-based treatment
• Use Headway's platform to manage insurance credentialing, billing, and scheduling

What We're Looking For

• MD or DO with completed psychiatry residency training
• Current, unrestricted medical license in your state
• DEA registration and state controlled substance license
• Board certification in psychiatry (or commitment to pursue)
• Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric diagnosis and psychopharmacology
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfort with electronic health records and telehealth technology

Compensation

Hourly compensation ranges from $119 to $239 per hour, based on credentials, experience, and clinical productivity.
