PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) is hiring a Benefits Administrative Specialist in Los Angeles, CA to join our dedicated Human Resources team. About the Role

As a Benefits Administrative Specialist, you'll be the go-to resource for our workforce's benefits questions and concerns. You'll work on-site in Los Angeles a minimum of three days per week, with additional on-site days needed to support new hire orientation and open enrollment periods. This role is essential to keeping our benefits programs running smoothly and ensuring employees have the support they need.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct new hire benefits orientations and create current, complete benefits packets for incoming employees.
  • Manage the benefits inbox, respond promptly to employee questions, and troubleshoot benefits-related issues.
  • Process weekly new benefits enrollments and administer Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) according to plan guidelines and deadlines.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain Proof of Relationship documentation and Evidence of Insurability (EOI) forms.
  • Handle benefits transitions for employees moving between full-time and part-time status.
  • Administer leave of absence benefits, including premium collection and open enrollment support.
  • Prepare separation and COBRA documentation, process employee terminations in benefits systems, and verify separation and new-hire notices.
  • Review payroll deductions each cycle and reconcile 403(b) and FSA contributions.

What We're Looking For

  • Four years of Human Resources experience, with a minimum of two years in benefits administration.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability and initiative.
  • Ethical professional standards and commitment to data confidentiality.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation (driving is required for this position).
  • California residency and ability to work on-site in Los Angeles County.
  • Preferred: HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM, or CEBS.
