About the Role
As a Janitor at PATH, you'll maintain one of our supportive housing communities, working under the supervision of the Resident Manager. Your work ensures that common spaces, residential units, and grounds remain clean, safe, and welcoming for the residents and staff who depend on them. This is an on-site position with scheduled on-call rotations, and reliable transportation is essential for this role.
What You'll Do
- Maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep, including grounds, building exteriors, and interior common areas
- Perform move-in and move-out apartment cleanings, including deep cleaning of kitchens (appliances, exhaust fans), bathrooms, floors, walls, and utility closets
- Clean, sweep, mop, vacuum, and shampoo or steam-clean common area floors as needed
- Use pressure washers to clean sidewalks, parking structures, and dumpster areas on a regular schedule
- Keep restrooms, maintenance storage, and shop areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Remove graffiti promptly and maintain visual standards throughout the property
- Inspect assigned spaces for safety compliance and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately
- Respond to maintenance requests from staff with friendly, responsive service
- Support other properties within PATH's portfolio as coverage is needed
- Participate in on-call rotation per the established schedule
What We're Looking For
Ideal candidates bring strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork skills. You're resourceful, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards. Clear communication with staff and a collaborative approach to solving problems are essential. We welcome applicants at all experience levels.
Preferred: High school diploma or GED; two years of janitorial experience in multi-family housing.
Required: Valid US driver's license, reliable vehicle, proof of insurance, and employment eligibility. You must be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification and pass a tuberculosis screening, background check, and drug test as a condition of employment.
