Compliance Specialist

About the Role

As our Compliance Specialist, you'll be the guardian of regulatory excellence, ensuring our operations meet all applicable federal, state, and local housing regulations. You'll work closely with property management teams to implement policies, monitor adherence, and respond promptly to compliance questions and concerns.

What You'll Do

• Review and maintain compliance documentation, including lease agreements, certifications, and required disclosures
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to housing regulations and company standards
• Track regulatory updates and communicate changes to property teams in Fairland and surrounding areas
• Investigate compliance concerns and coordinate remedial actions
• Prepare compliance reports and maintain detailed records for regulatory agencies
• Train property staff on compliance requirements and best practices
• Support affordable housing program compliance, including income verification and occupancy requirements

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in affordable housing compliance or similar regulatory environment
• Strong knowledge of HUD regulations, fair housing laws, and state and local housing codes
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into actionable guidance
• Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office suite
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
