Aequor Healthcare Services is hiring a Surgical Tech for our Viroqua, Vernon County surgical center. This 8-week part-time contract offers a daytime schedule and direct involvement in surgical care with an established healthcare team.

Position Summary

We're seeking a Surgical Tech to join our surgical team on a part-time basis for this focused 8-week engagement. In this role, you'll work days in the operating room, supporting surgeons and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures. You'll be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique from pre-operative setup through post-operative recovery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with appropriate surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies before each case
• Sterilize surgical instruments and maintain equipment according to established protocols
• Serve as first assistant in the operating room, passing instruments and anticipating surgeon needs
• Maintain accurate accounting of surgical sponges, needles, and instruments for patient safety
• Monitor surgical equipment and communicate any malfunctions promptly
• Ensure adherence to strict sterile technique and infection control standards throughout all procedures
• Maintain organized surgical supply inventory and document procedures accurately

Who We're Looking For

• Surgical Tech certification or eligibility for state certification
• Demonstrated experience in operating room or surgical environments
• Expert knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile field management
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Ability to remain composed and responsive in a fast-paced medical setting
