In this full-time leadership role, you'll guide multinational clients through the complexities of cross-border commerce, tariff optimization, and customs compliance while building and managing a high-performing team.
About the Role
As Customs & International Trade Tax Director at PwC, you will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to Fortune 500 companies and mid-market organizations navigating international trade regulations, import/export duties, and supply chain tax optimization. This director-level position combines technical expertise in customs law with business development and team leadership, positioning you as both a subject matter expert and a growth driver for our practice.
What You'll Do
- Lead complex customs and trade compliance advisory engagements, including tariff classification, valuation, rules of origin analysis, and duty optimization strategies
- Develop and execute transfer pricing strategies and documentation for multinational enterprises conducting international business
- Advise clients on tax planning initiatives designed to reduce exposure and maximize efficiency in global supply chains
- Build and mentor a team of tax professionals specializing in customs and international trade matters
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities within existing and prospective client relationships
- Stay current with evolving trade policy, tariff schedules, and regulatory changes impacting client operations
- Provide expert testimony and technical support during audits, disputes, and regulatory inquiries
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience in customs law, international trade, transfer pricing, or related tax disciplines
- Demonstrated success managing client engagements and leading cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of supply chain tax strategy and duty reduction techniques
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulations for business audiences
- CPA, law degree, or equivalent professional credential preferred
- Proven track record of business development and relationship management at the director level or equivalent
