About the Role

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Regions Bank in the Metairie Terrace area, you'll be the trusted advisor borrowers turn to when securing a mortgage. You'll work directly with applicants from initial consultation through closing, ensuring a smooth and transparent experience. Your expertise will help clients understand loan options, competitive rates, and repayment terms so they can make confident financial decisions aligned with their long-term goals.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive financial consultations with mortgage applicants to assess needs and recommend suitable loan programs
• Gather, review, and verify financial documentation including income statements, credit reports, and asset verification
• Prepare and submit complete loan applications while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate seamlessly with underwriting, appraisal, title, and closing teams to move files through the pipeline efficiently
• Explain mortgage products, interest rate structures, and terms in clear language that empowers borrowers
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation meets lending regulations and bank policies
• Develop and nurture a strong client base through relationship building and professional referral generation
• Monitor market conditions and stay current with lending regulations and industry best practices

What We're Looking For

• Active Mortgage Loan Officer license or NMLS equivalent (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
• Proven experience in mortgage lending, loan origination, or financial advisory roles
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting standards, and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and colleagues
• Ability to juggle multiple applications while maintaining deadlines and attention to detail
• Organized, self-motivated approach to prospecting and client relationship management
• Proficiency with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office suite
• Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and building trust-based relationships
