About the Role
This is a temporary staffing assignment designed to support surgical sterilization departments in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County. You'll work evening hours—5 days per week, 8 hours per day—as part of a full-time role that runs for 13 weeks. Your work ensures that surgical instruments meet the highest safety and cleanliness standards before patient use.
What You'll Do
- Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and specialized machinery
- Inspect instruments for damage and ensure proper function before sterilization
- Sort, organize, and prepare instruments for sterilization cycles
- Package and label sterilized instruments according to facility protocols
- Track and document instrument sterilization logs and quality control records
- Maintain a clean and organized sterile processing workspace
- Follow all infection control and OSHA compliance standards
