About the Role
As a company driver with U.S. Xpress - OTR, you'll operate dry van equipment across the continental United States, managing long-haul routes while maintaining safety and delivery standards. What You'll Do
- Operate Class A tractor-trailer units on routes averaging 2,000–5,000 miles per week based on solo or team configuration
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain equipment condition
- Meet delivery schedules while adhering to federal hours-of-service regulations and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate logbook entries and trip documentation
- Communicate with dispatch and customers to coordinate loads and resolve issues
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with clean driving record
- 1 to 5 months of recent commercial driving experience
- Current DOT medical certification
- Commitment to safety, professionalism, and federal compliance
- Reliable, safety-focused attitude and strong work ethic
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive pay: 57–64 cents per mile based on experience level
- Solo drivers earn an average of $4,000 sign-on bonus with typical routes of 2,000 miles weekly
- Team drivers receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus (split) and $0.72–$0.80 per mile (split compensation) with routes averaging 5,000 miles weekly
- Top-performing drivers in our fleet earn up to $1,600 per week
