About the Role
As a Graduate Nurse (GN) in Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Vincent's Behavioral Health Center, you'll provide direct patient care in a specialized 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility. This role is designed to bridge your education into clinical practice, offering mentorship and real-world nursing experience in mental health care.
What You'll Do
- Deliver compassionate care to adolescent patients with diverse psychiatric and behavioral health needs
- Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document clinical observations
- Assist with medication administration and patient education under clinical supervision
- Support therapeutic interventions and group activities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists
- Maintain accurate, timely medical records and care documentation
- Respond to patient needs with professionalism and empathy in a fast-paced psychiatric setting
What We're Looking For
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Active or pending New York/Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Valid CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
