Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential sustainability organization based in Berlin that is seeking a working student to support climate-friendly maritime and port initiatives. In this role, you will:

• Support market, potential, and environmental analyses and evaluate technology options and business models for sustainable shipping and ports
• Assist with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of national climate action programs in the maritime sector
• Support tender and procurement processes, manage external consultants, and prepare documentation for stakeholders
• Contribute to technical advisory work regarding regulations and standards for alternative ship propulsion and fuels
• Assist in designing and implementing funding measures for climate-friendly shipping and ports
• Support network activities with government agencies, industry, academia, and associations, including preparation of events, working meetings, and workshops

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in natural sciences, engineering (mechanical engineering, propulsion technology, naval architecture, transportation), industrial engineering, economics, political science, or related fields
• Some professional experience through internships at industrial companies, service providers, industry associations, public administration, or research institutions
• Ideally, knowledge and experience related to maritime industries (shipping, shipbuilding, suppliers, port operations) and understanding of alternative propulsion systems and fuel infrastructures
• Preferably familiar with funding programs and network collaboration with government, industry, academia, and associations
• Team-oriented, resilient, reliable, and motivated
• Good English skills and strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Alignment with sustainable mobility goals and commitment to actively supporting this mission
