We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization that is seeking a Senior Specialist Field Engineer - Networking to join their customer-facing technical team in London. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI infrastructure and customer success, focusing specifically on networking technologies within high-performance compute environments.

As part of the Customer Experience organization, you'll serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients running AI workloads at scale. You'll work hands-on throughout the customer lifecycle—from establishing Kubernetes environments to developing proofs of concept, onboarding, and optimizing workloads. This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate thought leadership while contributing directly to product development and engineering strategy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, establishing strong technical relationships and ensuring success with cloud infrastructure offerings, with a focus on networking technologies within HPC environments
• Collaborate with customers to understand their business needs and create, prototype, and deploy tailored solutions
• Lead proof of concept initiatives to showcase solution value and viability within specific customer environments
• Drive technical leadership during customer meetings, presentations, and workshops, addressing technical queries and concerns
• Act as a virtual member of the networking product and engineering teams, identifying product enhancement opportunities and collaborating on implementation
• Provide insights on product features, functionality, and performance, contributing to product strategy and architecture discussions
• Conduct periodic technical reviews and assessments of customer workloads, identifying optimization opportunities
• Stay current on developments in Kubernetes, cloud computing, and infrastructure, sharing thought leadership with customers and internal stakeholders
• Lead prototyping and research efforts for emerging products and solutions
• Represent the organization at conferences and industry events, with occasional travel required

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of proven experience as a Solutions Architect, Field Engineer, Engineer, Researcher, or Technical Account Manager in Cloud Infrastructure, focusing on building distributed systems or HPC/cloud services, with expertise in infrastructure networking
• Fluency in cloud computing concepts, architecture, and technologies with hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud solutions
• Proven track record building customer relationships and communicating clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Expertise with a broad range of networking technologies and topics, with familiarity to understand needs and use cases as they relate to securing and enabling high-performance networking environments
• Experience managing infrastructure networking, Kubernetes CSI management, and private networking concepts
• Familiarity with NVIDIA GPUs typically used in AI/ML applications and associated technologies such as Infiniband and NVIDIA Collective Communications Library (NCCL)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Code contributions to open-source inference frameworks
• Experience with scripting and automation related to network technologies
• Experience building solutions across multi-cloud environments
• Client or customer-facing publications/talks on latency, optimization, or advanced model-server architectures

Pay

The compensation range provided by our client for this role is £98,000 to £130,000 base salary. The final offer will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. The total rewards package also includes discretionary bonus, equity awards, and comprehensive benefits (based on eligibility).
