Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential infrastructure organization seeking a working student to support procurement operations for their fiber-optic expansion projects. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in both operational and strategic purchasing activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting operational and strategic procurement processes for civil engineering and planning services, from requisition through order processing and documentation
• Participating actively in tender processes: preparing documentation, soliciting quotes, reviewing and comparing proposals, and assisting with award decisions and contract negotiations
• Conducting market research on pricing, suppliers, and competitive offerings to support procurement decisions
• Maintaining purchasing, supplier, and contract databases while creating analyses and presentations to support decision-making
• Collaborating with technical, planning, project management, and controlling departments to optimize procurement workflows
• Taking ownership of assigned tasks and small-scale projects within the procurement function after your onboarding period

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a currently enrolled student who can commit to at least 12 months in this working student position. The ideal candidate will have:

• Active enrollment in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Business Law, or a comparable program with genuine interest in procurement for civil engineering and planning services
• Ideally, prior practical experience from internships or working student roles, with enthusiasm for procurement processes and commercial operations
• A careful, structured, and reliable work approach with attention to detail
• Basic understanding of and interest in technical, organizational, and legal aspects of civil engineering and planning services, with motivation to deepen this knowledge
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage proactively with colleagues and external partners, work collaboratively in teams, and demonstrate initiative when learning new topics
